Toby & Me

I’m a seventh generation Texan, and Texas is where I’ve spent most of my life! Though I’ve always been a follower of Christ, I wasn’t very obedient in my walk. I prayed the Lord would send me a wonderful Christian man to be my husband, and He soon sent me an agnostic! I wasn’t too impressed with God’s sense of humor, you can only imagine, but this was a little peek into what God had in store for my future… and Toby’s. Once the Lord got His hands on Toby, he was transformed into a “new man” and God’s purpose and plans for our lives started to unfold.

Jesus spoke loud and clear to us, “If you want to be my followers, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me” (Matt. 16:24). And selfish ways we did have! But we obeyed His command, gave a lot of our belongings away, took up our cross, and God led us to Dothan, Alabama, where we now reside, living new lives as new children in Christ! Though I’ve been a writer all my life, fiction being my specialty, I’d never used my God-given talent to write for Him, until He asked me to.  I can’t tell you how much I enjoy writing Christian books and stories and living out my dreams! We are now the Associate Pastors at Living Covenant Church. We couldn't ask for a better life!

Toby and I really enjoy living in the “Bible Belt,” which is great because we’re avid hikers and the Appalachian mountains aren’t too far away! We like to tear up a trail now and then when the weather permits. We’re huge foodies! We love to cook, make up new recipes, invite friends over, fellowship, and eat! You can’t fellowship without food, can you (wink, wink)? Hey, you can’t beat that! We have several rescue kitties, that are literally like our children, who like to snuggle up with us at night in bed! I guess you could say we’re an ordinary couple with an extraordinary mission… to serve God, carry out the Great Commission, and feed His lambs!
